The BK8.io licence: what the record shows and how to check it
BK8.io is operated by Mettlemind Tech Ltd. and licensed by the Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan under licence ALSI-202504032-FI2. That is the version in the legal footer of every BK8.io page, and it links to a validation seal you can open yourself. Older marketing copy on the same site still mentions Curaçao and Malta, and this page explains why we give those less weight.
The licence on record
Every page on bk8.io ends with the same legal text. It is the most specific statement the operator makes about itself, and it is the version we treat as current.
| Operator | Mettlemind Tech Ltd. |
|---|---|
| Registration no. | 15779 |
| Registered address | Hamchako, Mutsamudu, Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros |
| Regulator | Government of the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros |
| Licence no. | ALSI-202504032-FI2 |
| Validation | Click the seal in the bk8.io footer. The validation link it opens expires after about 20 minutes, so we do not link to it from here. |
Anjouan is one of the islands of the Comoros, and its licences have become a common choice for crypto casinos in the past few years. An Anjouan licence is not the same as a licence from a regulator in your own country. It sets the rules BK8.io must follow as an operator, and it gives you a body to complain to, but it does not give you the protections of a domestic regulator such as the UK Gambling Commission. BK8.io does not hold a UK licence.

Check it yourself in under a minute
- Open bk8.io and scroll to the bottom of the page.
- Find the block headed Gaming License and click the seal.
- The validation page should open on anjouangamingboard.org and name the domain bk8.io.
- Compare the licence number on that page with ALSI-202504032-FI2.
A seal is only worth something if it opens a live page on the regulator's domain for the exact site you are on. Copycat sites often paste a seal image that links nowhere. If anything in those four steps does not match, stop there.
Two things on the validation page can look alarming and are worth knowing in advance. Each click on the seal creates a link that is valid for about 20 minutes. If you open an older link, perhaps one saved in a bookmark or pasted into a forum, the page shows an orange notice saying it has expired, and it tells you not to accept it as proof. Go back to bk8.io, reload the page and click the seal again. And if you open the validator with only the domain and no seal, it reports bk8.io as invalid, because the check depends on the seal code. Neither result tells you anything about the licence itself. Only a fresh click from the bk8.io footer does.
Where the licence does not reach
The validation page lists the places the licence does not cover. When we opened it on 22 October 2026, it said the licence was issued by the Offshore Finance Authority of the State of Anjouan under the Computer Gaming Licensing Act 007 of 2005, and that it does not extend to these territories:
- Australia, Comoros, France, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and the USA
- Countries on the FATF blacklist, and sanctioned jurisdictions
- Any other territory the Anjouan authority treats as excluded
The page adds that complaints from players in those territories fall outside the licence and will not be heard. That is a separate list from the 15 countries BK8.io's own FAQ bars, so check both before you sign up. If you live in one of the excluded territories, you would have no route to the Anjouan regulator if something went wrong.
Where BK8.io's own pages disagree
We found three places where BK8.io's pages say different things about the same fact. None is unusual for a platform that has been rebuilt and re-licensed, but each one matters if you are deciding whether to trust it with money.
| Topic | One page says | Another page says | We record |
|---|---|---|---|
| Licence | Homepage copy: licensed by the Government of Curaçao, plus a GCB licence | Legal footer on every page: Anjouan, ALSI-202504032-FI2, with a working seal | Anjouan |
| Base | About page: based in Malta | Legal footer: registered in Anjouan, Union of Comoros | Anjouan |
| KYC | Homepage copy: Bitcoin deposits need no identity documents in most cases | FAQ: three KYC levels, which BK8.io may request at any time | Checks possible |
Our rule is simple. Legal text and FAQ rules beat marketing copy, because they are what BK8.io would point to in a dispute. A live regulator seal beats any written claim. When we find a newer statement from BK8.io that settles one of these, we will update the entry and its date.
Identity checks: what to expect
BK8.io's FAQ sets out three levels of verification. It says documents may be requested at its discretion, and that a locked account can only be unlocked once verification is complete.
| Level | What you provide |
|---|---|
| 1 | Full legal name, date of birth and address |
| 2 | A government photo ID: passport, driving licence or national ID card |
| 3 | A photo of you holding that ID and a note with "BK8", your username and the current date and time |
Two other account rules sit alongside KYC. You must verify your email before you can withdraw or tip, and two-factor authentication through Google Authenticator protects withdrawals once you switch it on. After five wrong 2FA codes, withdrawals are locked until you reset the counter by email. The deposit and withdrawal walkthrough covers where each check appears in the cashier.
Who may play
BK8.io sets the minimum age at 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. Its FAQ says it accepts players only from countries where online gambling is allowed by law, and it names 15 countries whose residents may not open an account at all: North Korea, Iran, Myanmar, Cuba, Syria, Yemen, Mali, South Sudan, Congo, Venezuela, Somalia, Belarus, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe and the USA.
That list is not the full picture. Your own country's law decides whether you can lawfully play, whatever BK8.io's list says. Singapore's Gambling Control Act 2022 makes it an offence to gamble with an unlicensed remote gambling service. Malaysia does not license online casinos. In the UK, only operators licensed by the Gambling Commission may offer gambling to British players. If you live somewhere like this, BK8.io is not for you, and nothing on this site suggests otherwise.
What the licence does not cover
A licence tells you who is accountable. It does not tell you how a particular game behaves or how fast a particular withdrawal will be. BK8.io's fairness rules depend on the type of game: its own Originals use a provably fair system you can check round by round, while third-party slots and arcade games run on the studio's random number generator. Our guide to Originals and provably fair checks explains the difference and includes a tool to test a revealed seed.
Questions readers ask
Is BK8.io licensed in Curaçao?
Not according to its own legal footer, which names an Anjouan licence, ALSI-202504032-FI2. The Curaçao and GCB wording appears only in homepage marketing copy, which we read as out of date.
How can I check the BK8.io licence myself?
Scroll to the footer of any bk8.io page and click the gaming licence seal. It opens a validation page on anjouangamingboard.org for the bk8.io domain. If the seal is missing or opens a different domain, do not deposit.
Can I play at BK8.io without KYC?
You can sign up and deposit without documents, but BK8.io's FAQ says it may request identity documents at its discretion, including before a withdrawal. Plan for checks rather than assuming they will never come.
Is BK8.io legal where I live?
That depends on your country, not on BK8.io's licence. BK8.io says it only accepts players where online gambling is allowed by law, and it bars 15 named countries outright. Some other countries, Singapore among them, also prohibit gambling with unlicensed online operators.
